    How it works

Free HHW disposal program for all Cuyahoga County households, run by the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District with the 59 communities in the county. Residents bring HHW (oil- or solvent-based paint, solvents, automotive fluids, pesticides and similar) to collection events held year-round or seasonally at their own city service department; the District's Special Waste Convenience Center is not open to the public. Latex paint, batteries and fluorescent bulbs are not accepted. Most communities accept waste only from their own residents.

    Cost & rules
    • Oil- or solvent-based paint only, brought to your city service department's HHW collection. Latex paint is not accepted: dry it out and put it in the trash.
    • Before you go: Dry out latex paint completely, then bag it with weekly trash.
