    How it works

WM's regional landfill at 2700 East Mustang Road, Sparks, NV 89434 (I-80 exit 23), about 10 miles east of Reno in Storey County (Lockwood) — outside Washoe County and outside any community in this group. Monday-Saturday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Phone 775-342-0401. Sparks and unincorporated Washoe County franchise customers may use their four free truckloads here.

    Cost & rules
    • Residential loads; the City of Sparks calls this free, but WM runs a separate yearly free week, so expect posted rates outside that week unless using a free truckload trip.

Before you go

  1. Count each piece separately: mattress, box spring and topper can be priced differently.
  2. Check for moisture, mold or bed bugs; many recyclers refuse damaged bedding.
  3. Confirm per-piece pricing and whether wrapping or an appointment is required.
