    How it works

Portland homeowners can get an E-Card through Portland Public Works (207-756-8011, solidwaste@portlandmaine.gov). It covers 10 bulky or e-waste items a year (July 1–June 30) at Riverside Recycling, 910 Riverside St., Portland. Appliances and tires are not E-Card items. Without the card, or once the 10 items are used, regular fees apply.

    Cost & rules
    • Show the E-Card to the attendant before entering; otherwise regular fees apply.

Before you go

  1. Count each piece separately: mattress, box spring and topper can be priced differently.
  2. Check for moisture, mold or bed bugs; many recyclers refuse damaged bedding.
  3. Confirm per-piece pricing and whether wrapping or an appointment is required.
