  3. Hawaii Electronic Device Recycling and Recovery Law (HRS Chapter 339D)State program · HawaiiOpen to everyoneConditions applyCost not listed
    How it works

Hawaii requires makers of electronic devices sold in the state to run recycling programs. Covered devices include computers, printers, monitors, laptops and tablets with screens over four inches, TVs with screens of nine inches or larger, and (since July 1, 2025) peripherals, routers, modems and game consoles. The DOH lists drop-off sites by county and some manufacturers' free mail-back programs.

    Cost & rules
    • Covered devices only, through a manufacturer program: staffed drop-off sites, collection services with a transportation fee, collection events, or a free mail-back offered by some manufacturers.

Before you go

  1. Note whether it’s a flat screen or an older CRT (tube) set; many programs price them differently.
  2. Ask whether a cracked screen or broken glass changes the price or handling.
  3. Confirm the total cost, including any visit fee, before you load it.
